Chris Brown will not face charges in ATV dispute

Los Angeles Police Department officials have dropped an investigation into disturbing the peace allegations against R&B star Chris Brown.

The Kiss Kiss hitmaker irked locals in his Tarzana neighbourhood in May (16), when he and a friend were caught speeding around on all-terrain vehicles (ATV), messing up neighbours' lawns.

Cops were called over the incident, but when officers arrived, Chris had retreated back into his home and refused to speak to authorities, with a friend suggesting police contact his lawyer to discuss the issue.

They were reportedly considering taking the case to the Los Angeles City Attorney's office and recommending prosecution for the crime of disturbing the peace, but according to TMZ.com, the person who filed the original complaint has since declined to co-operate, prompting authorities to officially close the investigation.

As a result, Chris will not face any charges over the dispute.

He has yet to comment on the news, but it's the 27-year-old's latest legal victory after recently winning a custody battle with his ex, Nia Guzman.

The mother of his daughter Royalty headed to court earlier this month (Aug16), seeking full custody and monitored visitation for Chris, while also asking a judge to have the singer submit regular drug tests.

However, her requests were all denied, and Nia was instead ordered to pay back the Beautiful People singer for the legal fees he was previously called on to cover, after ruling she was not entitled to the funds.

The previous custody arrangement between the former couple still stands - Chris gets his daughter Royalty for 12 days a month, as agreed in a deal last September (15).
