Chris Brown behind bars until June
Chris Brown's latest bid for freedom has been denied, and now he faces jail time until June (14).
The singer was arrested and jailed at the beginning of last month (Mar14) after he was dismissed from a rehab centre, where he was attending court-ordered anger management treatment.
The judge overseeing the case ruled Brown should remain behind bars
until his assault case in Washington, D.C. was heard.
That was due to begin this week (beg21Apr14), but proceedings have
stalled following his bodyguard's refusal to testify.
The minder, Christopher Hollosy, has already been found guilty of
assaulting 20-year-old Parker Adams outside a hotel last year
(13).
Brown's trial has now been postponed until June, and when the
singer's legal representatives asked the Los Angeles judge who
sentenced him to jail time to free him he refused, according to
TMZ.com.
Reports suggest Brown will now be flown back to Los Angeles, where
he'll remain in jail until June.
He could land a further four years behind bars if the eventual
ruling in the assault case is deemed a violation of his probation
following his 2009 conviction for beating his then-girlfriend,
Rihanna.
