Channing Tatum tricked into trying to cry

Written by . Published: February 05 2016

Channing Tatum's resisted crying when a psychic tried to get tears flowing.

The handsome actor married his wife Jenna Dewan in 2009 and the pair are parents to two-year-old daughter Everly. Channing's marriage has changed his world in many ways, one being that he's tried to take an interest in his other half's hobbies.

"I have been to more than I can even count, yeah," he smiled to talk show host Jimmy Kimmel when asked if he's visited mediums or psychics. "My wife has like... I would say a legion of light workers, physics. We even have shamans (healers), some of them are better than others, it's like a sliding scale....

"There are good ones and there's bad ones though; the worst one that I ever had just sits you down and he's like, 'You know I'm feeling something... You're just holding a lot of pain in your Heart Chakra (energy system). What is that, is it from your childhood? Do you want to talk about it? You look like you need to cry, let it out.' The whole hour he was just trying to get me to cry. I was like, 'Look man, I've already cried about this stuff, I don't want to cry about it again. Let's move on!'"

One thing Channing still finds difficult to recall to this day is one particularly bad audition. He may have won roles like stripper Mike in the Magic Mike franchise, but his performance skills weren't on par when he tried out for another popular series of films.

"That was Fast & Furious 3: Tokyo Drift," he said of his worst ever audition. "I wanted to go to Tokyo very badly and I remember... I stopped in the middle of the audition and I was like, 'I think we're done, right? This is just terrible.' I have no idea (why), I couldn't even tell... I blocked it out mainly so I don't remember the specifics but I think it was a combination of me being just bad, not remembering the lines, totally freaked out... I was probably sweating a lot."
