Bruno Mars lands major payday for bat mitzvah gig

R&B star Bruno Mars is set for a major payday after signing up to perform at a bat mitzvah for the daughter of Warner Music's billionaire owner.

The Grenade hitmaker, who is signed to Warner subsidiary Atlantic Records, was Russian oligarch Len Blavatnik's first choice for the coming-of-age party, because his kid is a big fan of the singer - and he has offered Mars a whopping $250,000 per song for the Big Apple gig.

A source tells the New York Daily News, "He is planning to sing five songs."

As part of the lucrative deal, Mars and his band will be flown to New York on a private jet and put up in a luxury hotel ahead of the event.

The bat mitzvah is not the only high-profile show Mars is preparing for - he has been selected to headline the biggest night in the football calender, the Super Bowl Halftime Show in New Jersey, next year (Feb14).
