Billy Ray Cyrus offers to officiate Miley's and Liam Hemsworth's wedding
Miley Cyrus' father Billy Ray has offered to serve double duty at his daughter's wedding - as father of the bride and officiant.
The Wrecking Ball hitmaker rekindled her romance with Liam Hemsworth in late 2015, two years after they called off their engagement, and this time they have gone out of their way to keep the private reunion low-key.
Miley has been spotted wearing the diamond ring The Hunger Games
star gave her when he proposed on her left ring finger, but it's
still not clear if their wedding plans are officially back on.
The singer/actress' dad Billy Ray Cyrus has confirmed they are back
together, and after portraying a dysfunctional Elvis Presley-loving
preacher in new comedy Still the King, he jokes he wouldn't be
opposed to marrying the couple himself.
"They're really happy together right now," he told breakfast show
Today, before quipping, "They know if they need a preacher they've
found one!"
Miley and Liam met and fell in love on the set of their 2010 film
The Last Song, and they became engaged in June, 2012.
Liam recently opened up about their initial split to GQ Australia,
admitting that while it was difficult for them, the time apart was
necessary.
"Of course it was hard, man," he explained. "But at the time we
were going in different directions and it's just what needed to
happen. We were both super young and it was a good decision at the
time - we both needed that."
Liam is hesitant to go into much detail about his renewed romance
with 23-year-old Miley, although he acknowledges fans will always
know what's up.
"People will figure it out, they already have..." he added.
"They're not dumb."
Liam, 26, has previously spoken about becoming more private to help
keep the peace at home.
"I just find it's easier to not talk about my personal life because
usually I say the wrong thing, so it ends up just complicating
things more," he told Entertainment Tonight last month (May16).
