Backstreet Boys and New Kids On The Block not responsible for stagehand injury
Backstreet Boys and New Kids On The Block are in the clear after a judge dismissed a $5 million lawsuit filed against the bands by an injured stagehand.
William Wesley Styron was setting up for the pop groups' joint concert at the FedExForum in Memphis, Tennessee in June last year (11) when he allegedly stumbled and plunged 13 feet (3.9 metres) to the ground.
In his lawsuit, Styron claimed he fractured his skull and sustained
a "traumatic brain injury" in the fall but the bands insisted the
accident was his own fault for failing to look where he was
going.
Maryland District Court Judge J. Frederick Motz ruled in favor of
the musicians last month (Nov12), stating responsibility for the
accident lies with the company that hired Styron, Crew One
Productions, Inc.
Judge Motz dismissed the lawsuit against the bands.
