Avril Lavigne became a shop assistant on Tuesday (03Apr12) to support a Canadian supermarket's new charity drive.
Bosses at Safeway have launched a fundraising campaign for the Special Olympics and Easter Seals, an organisation which aims to enhance the quality of life of disabled Canadians.
Lavigne supported the scheme at her local Safeway store and helped
pack bags to raise awareness of the initiative.
In a post on her Twitter.com page, she writes, "Just bagged
groceries with Safeway to support their people with disabilities
campaign with Easter Seals! I got a medal today!"
The Sk8er Boi hitmaker has also filmed exclusive videos for fans in
exchange for a $5 donation to the fundraiser.
