Anne Hathaway hosts cancer charity runway show

Anne Hathaway stepped out on Saturday night (19Oct13) to host a star-studded event to raise funds for a women's cancer charity.

The Les Miserables star has stayed away from the public spotlight since winning her Best Supporting Actress Oscar in February (13), but she returned to the red carpet to oversee Elyse Walker's 9th Annual Pink Party runway show.

She was joined by guests including Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Capshaw and stylist Rachel Zoe at the fashion event in Santa Monica, California, which benefited the Women's Cancer Program at Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai hospital.

Taking to the podium, Hathaway was moved to tears as she thanked renowned cancer doctor Dr. Beth Y. Karlan for successfully guiding a friend through her own battle with the disease.

Hathaway said, "She helped a beloved friend of mine battle cancer recently. You were more than just my friend's doctor. You were a friend and an ally, and I'm happy to say that together you kicked that cancer's a**."
