Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone hold up charity signs for snappers
The Amazing Spider-Man co-stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone put their fame to good use when they were confronted by paparazzi on Saturday (15Sep12) by flashing handmade signs promoting charities.
The real-life couple was eating lunch in New York City and noticed a camp of photographers gathering outside, but instead of running for cover the stars used the photo opportunity to raise awareness for a good cause.
Emerging from the eatery, Garfield and Stone held up cardboard
posters in front of their faces with information about two
charities they back.
The signs read, "We just found out that there were paparazzi
outside the restaurant we were eating in. So…Why not take this
opportunity to bring attention to organizations that need and
deserve it: www.wwo.org and gildasclubnyc.org. Have a good
day!"
The Worldwide Orphans Foundation, which boasts Garfield as its
ambassador, assists orphans in becoming "productive members of
their communities and the world," while Stone volunteers for cancer
support network Gilda's Club NYC, named after her comedy hero Gilda
Radner, who died from ovarian cancer in 1989.
