Alyson Hannigan returning to TV as host of magic contest
Alyson Hannigan is heading back to her magical roots as the host of a TV competition series featuring illusionists Penn & Teller.
The former Buffy the Vampire Slayer star has been tapped as the presenter for the upcoming third season of Penn & Teller: Fool Us, a contest which challenges magicians to trick the famous duo.
Hannigan revealed her seven-year-old daughter Satyana was one of
the main reasons she signed up for the job, saying in a statement,
"My oldest daughter and I are huge fans of the show, so I am so
excited to be hosting a program our whole family can watch
together. Not to mention, Penn & Teller are genius entertainers, so
any opportunity to work with them is amazing."
Hannigan replaces British TV personality Jonathan Ross, who fronted
the programme for two seasons.
The show marks the actress' first hosting gig, as well as her first
major TV project since ending her nine-season run on How I Met Your
Mother in 2014.
Hannigan is set to make her debut when the show returns to
America's CW network this summer (16).
