Allison Williams dedicates 'flying lessons' to tragic Pan Robin
Actress Allison Williams has dedicated a Peter Pan flying lesson she posted as a video on Instagram.com to Robin Williams, who previously played the boy who never grew up in Hook.
The Girls star has been cast as Pan in a new TV event, which will air live in December (14), and as she started rehearsals this week (beg11Aug14), she had tragic Williams, who passed away on Monday, on her mind.
Posting the video footage of her acrobatics, the 26 year old
writes, "First day of flying lessons for Pan. Thinking about and
missing a hero of mine who once did this and left big shoes to
fill."
Meanwhile, Williams' Hook director, Steven Spielberg, has added his
tribute to the outpouring of star messages, telling People
magazine, "Robin was a lightning storm of comic genius, and our
laughter was the thunder that sustained him."
And his Hook co-star, Dante Basco, has remembered the tragic
comedian in a touching blog post.
The actor, who portrayed punk-haired Rufio, the leader of The Lost
Boys, in the 1991 movie, reveals he had looked up to Williams since
watching 1989 drama Dead Poets Society and was grateful to have
worked with his idol.
He writes, "I was fortunate to spend private times, many mornings
in the makeup chair, (which with my tri-hawk hair took hours), just
talking about poetry... And soft spoken and introspectively we
would discuss (poets) Walt Whitman and Charles Bukowski."
