Adele using vocal exercises to restore voice
Sick soul singer Adele is undergoing regular vocal training in a bid to overcome the throat issues which prompted her to cancel shows this year (11).
The Rolling In The Deep hitmaker axed concerts in her native Britain and America due to recurring issues with her voice.
She most recently scrapped her 10-date U.S. tour earlier this month
(Oct11) over fears her vocal cords could be damaged for good if she
did not take time to recuperate.
Adele is now consulting a vocal expert and she is baffled by some
of the exercises she has been ordered to do.
She tells Britain's The Sun, "My vocal therapist is amazing - she
looks like a Brazilian Shirley Bassey - but she's given me all of
these new exercises.
"Now I have to sing my songs through a straw to get my diaphragm
going. I have to do all of these facial movements to get my face
going and it makes me look butt ugly because my whole face
vibrates.
"But the worst thing is that I've got this massive thing that looks
like a sex toy and I've got to stick it into a bottle of water and
blow. It's awful. And I have to sing things like Happy Birthday and
the Grand Old Duke Of York. It's so embarrassing."
