50 Cent mocks lavish lifestyle in advert
50 Cent has mocked his lavish lifestyle in an advertisement for a hostel company.
The rapper, real name Curtis Jackson stars in a new advert for online hostel booking company Hostelworld.
In the commercial, the In Da Club musician takes cameramen on a
tour of a hostel in Barcelona, Spain in the style of the popular TV
show MTV Cribs.
MTV Cribs, which ran on the music television network and its global
affiliates from 2000 until 2011, saw celebrities allow cameras into
their homes.
The hip hop star's hostel based version, titled In Da Hostel, sees
him praise the temporary living accommodation's facilities
including, a pool table, swimming pool, as well as its communal
area and lounge.
"We are so happy to have converted 50 Cent into a hosteller - he's
found the best way to live like a millionaire without having to
part with crazy amounts of money in the process," Hostelworld chief
marketing officer Otto Rosenberger tells British newspaper The
Guardian. "We look forward to welcoming the rest of the world's
music elite at our hostels very soon."
The rapper is known for his big spending ways but may have to limit
his outgoings due to an ongoing bankruptcy case. 50 Cent has
reportedly agreed to pay $23 million to his creditors over the next
five years.
His financial difficulties have not stopped the star splashing the
cash however, as earlier this month (May16) he gave $100,000 to an
autism charity by way of an apology after posting a video of
himself mocking a teenage airport janitor, who was later revealed
to have the developmental condition, autism.
