November has arrived and that means colder weather and shorter days. Those two things combined can lead to a decreased quality of mental health and productivity. Although it’s not fun to feel unmotivated and tired this time of year, it is pretty normal. Luckily, TikTok is a great source for tips and tricks on how to stay inspired this Fall!
1. Do You See Anything Green?
Maybe you’re dealing with racing thoughts or building panic. Maybe it’s keeping you from doing what you want to be doing right now – what you enjoy. Whatever it is, take the time to watch Emile Leyes’s (@emilieleyes.hypnosis) video where she encourages viewers to identify different colors around their room. This is to ground you in the present. It’s a great way to get out of your head if you’re dealing with something stressful and re-focus.

2. What a Clean Environment Means
Once you’ve managed to regroup, it’s time for the next step. Brogan (@nottheworstcleaner) explains the importance of a clean environment and its correlation with better mental health. Those who live in cluttered spaces tend to feel overwhelmed and unmotivated. Cleaning can even be therapeutic if you tackle it in small chunks.
@nottheworstcleaner Reply to @cjbehrens Forget the dreamy spotless house, that’s fake, unrealistic and overwhelming. I’m here to help you find that happy medium of being able to consistently live in a comfortable in chaotic space that you deserve. #mentalhealthmatters #cleantok ♬ original sound - Not the Worst Cleaner
3. It’s About The Baby Steps
Those small chunks are integral to reclaiming your motivation. It’s important not to give up on the things that we enjoy, even when we feel like they’re suddenly a burden. Cloud (@cloudthegardeneruk) shares that he wrestles with feeling out of it this time of year, but he focuses on himself rather than spreading himself thin in other areas. It’s okay to preserve your energy! Take care of you first rather than everyone around you and tackle the garden, the kitchen, or whatever has fallen away from you.
@cloudgardeneruk Managing your Mental Health during Winter is not it. For some reason it gets harder in Winter. You get even more anxious about doing the things you love & then get wrapped up in "saving" others at work/home and neglect yourself. Creating a negative cycle. Sometimes, you have to put yourself first and break down those overwhelming tasks into smaller chunks and get some wins under your belt to lift yourself up. This video is me doing just that. #gardening #mentalhealth #anxiety #depressed #minivlog #dayinmylife #vlogs #balcony #balconygarden #gardeningtips ♬ original sound - Cloud Gardener UK
4. Change The Scenery!
Sometimes we have to get up and physically leave a space to start to feel better. Try going to the beach or on a hike – maybe to the mall! As long as you are getting out and refocusing on the world around you, then you’re on the right path.
