Now that all episodes of "Agatha All Along" are streaming, you can watch the entire follow-up to Marvel’s "WandaVision" in which Kathryn Hahn plays a witch who escapes the Scarlet Witch’s spell and then gathers a coven to head down The Witches' Road. If you’ve already watched it, or need a reason to re-watch, here are some interesting facts about the series you might not have known when it first came out!
1. The character of Agatha Harkness appeared in an issue of The Fantastic Four. She’s the first Marvel character to get a live-action adaptation without having her own comic book.
2. Showrunner Jac Schaeffer wanted to include a cameo of a character from "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law" -- the hilarious Madisynn (played by Patty Guggenheim) -- but the writers couldn’t figure out a way to include her in a way that felt natural with the script, so the idea ended up getting scrapped.
3. Though "Agatha All Along" was conceived as a miniseries, there is evidence that a Season 2 might be in the works. First of all, when asked about a second season, Schaeffer did not deny its possible existence and in fact promised that more Agatha Harkness content will be coming, we just don't know in what form. One of the most promising clues for this second season is the fact that, for the Emmys, "Agatha" was submitted for Best ComedySeries rather than Best Limited Series. This suggests that Agatha might stick around for more than just one season! (And if you saw the finale, you know that Agatha and her Teen sidekick have some unfinished business...)
4. While "WandaVision" had a budget of $225 million, "Agatha All Along" only had a budget of less than $40 million, making it the least expensive Marvel series to date. Because of the low budget, "Agatha"’s high viewership and excellent reviews mean even more profit for Disney. This might begin a trend of Disney+ giving tighter budgets to future Marvel projects.
5. Partly because of the low budget, the production team on "Agatha" had a lot more creative freedom. The show is much darker than other Marvel shows and even contains nudity, setting it apart from typical MCU entertainment. The fact that it is so popular may cause Disney to experiment with imaginative and dark concepts going forward.
