Latino music has made its entry into American society and has gained major popularity. Whether you speak Spanish or not, you probably know a few songs and artists from this genre of music, which is called Reggaetón… AKA Latin Trap music. Not only have these songs gained recognition in the Spanish Billboard Charts, but the songs have also debuted on the American Billboard Charts.
Artists who are not of Hispanic decent have also collaborated with these musicians and have even sung/rapped in Spanish. Remember Justin Bieber’s feature in Luis Fonsi’s remix of “Despacito"? Of course you do, because it was inescapable 2 years ago. Or what about Beyoncé’s feature in J Balvin & Willy William’s remix of “Mi Gente”? Or even Drake’s feature in Bad Bunny’s song, “Mia”? It’s dope to see artists of different cultures collaborating and producing diverse music for everyone to enjoy. You don’t even have to understand the lyrics but the beat gets you moving. You can deny it, but when you hear Reggaetón on the dance floor or even in the car, it’s hard to just sit still.
