10 Summer Activities You Can Do From Home!

Written by Calissa Kirilenko. Published: June 28 2020

It’s the season most of us look forward to every year; however, this year, Summer is looking a little different. With COVID-19, there are still many restrictions in place, which means we can’t do all the Summer activities we love, but we can still do some and, most importantly, find ways to make the most of the current situation.

Here are 10 fun activities you can do without leaving your home!

1. If you have a backyard, have a campfire and roast marshmallows.

Nothing says summer like some good old-fashioned s’mores.

2. If you love to participate in summer marathons, then this year, you can have your own.

Plan a virtual one with your friends and train virtually as well.

3. Make popsicles.

Try a new flavor, experiment by adding some fruit in or mixing flavors together.

4. Go "camping".

Another Summer staple is camping, but with many campsites closed, we have to get creative. Try camping in your backyard or, if you really want to, build a fort and do so in your house.

5. Have an outdoor movie night.

There are plenty of small projectors you can order online, or, if you’re able to, just bring your TV outside with an extension cord.

6. Garden.

Gardening has been a huge trend recently, so if you’ve always wanted to try your green thumb, plant an herb garden. There’s nothing like freshly picked herbs to add to your meal.

7. Get crafty and make some tie-dye.

You can even take it up a notch and tie-dye with fruits and vegetables. Did you know avocado skins will turn your shirt a light pink color?

8. Play lawn games!

There’s lawn bowling, cornhole, spike ball, and bocce ball, plus many more to choose from.

9. Order a blow-up swimming pool or kiddie pool to cool off with.

If there’s one thing that is great about the Summer, it is hitting up the beach or pool, but this year it might be time to indulge in your own.

10. Make homemade ice cream.

If you’re up for the challenge, it is definitely worth it. Fresh vanilla ice cream with strawberries sounds delicious.

Happy Summer!
