Tracy Morgan wants to walk unaided by his August wedding
Comedian Tracy Morgan is determined to walk unaided by August (15) so he can escort his fiancee down the aisle after exchanging vows.
The former 30 Rock star is still recovering from a horrific car crash almost a year ago (Jun14), when his limousine collided with a truck in New Jersey, killing his friend James 'Jimmy Mack' McNair and leaving Morgan with serious injuries, including head trauma and a broken leg and ribs.
The funnyman has been undergoing regular physiotherapy sessions to
learn how to sit, stand and walk again, and now that he's back on
his feet, he is keen to ditch the cane he has been using to help
his balance by the time he makes Megan Wollover his wife this
summer (15).
He tells People magazine, "I am working out now, but physical
therapy isn't easy. It's a lot of ooch-ing and lot of ouching and
screaming, but I am determined...
"I don't want to walk my wife down the aisle with a cane or in a
wheelchair. So I had to go hard with the therapy. I had to get
better. There was no ifs, ands or buts about it."
He adds, "Happiness is simply having something to look forward to.
I look forward to being married, and I'm really happy."
Morgan proposed to Wollover in 2012 and they welcomed their first
child together, daughter Maven, in 2013. The 46 year old also has
three older sons from his first marriage to high school sweetheart
Sabina.
