Tom Hiddleston was left surprised after a video of him dancing with Taylor Swift at the Met Gala went viral on Tuesday (03May16).
The British actor was one of the hundreds of guests at the annual fashion bash in New York on Monday (02May16), when stars gathered at the Metropolitan Museum of Art to celebrate the opening of its newest exhibit.
But the next day, Tom and Taylor became an Internet sensation after Valentino brand ambassador Carlos Souza posted a video on Instagram of the unlikely pals showing off their best moves to rapper T.I.'s hit 2004 song Bring Em Out.
In another clip, the Thor star twirled Taylor, who co-chaired the event, to Beyonce's Crazy in Love.
And Tom was admits he didn't expect for their moves to be broadcast across the World Wide Web, telling the Press Association on Thursday (05May16), "It's a weird one (that it went viral). I didn’t know it was going to ping round the world, but it’s all good.
"I love dancing, who doesn't? I haven't actually danced for a long time, but I happened to be dancing at the Met Gala, because it was a party."
He explained, "I was on a table with Taylor Swift and The Weeknd was playing and she said, 'The thing about these parties is nobody gets up to dance.' She, as a musician, was like, 'We've got to dance for The Weeknd!' so we got up and danced."
Following their turn on the dance floor, the new friends were even later spotted heading to the afterparty at the Boom Boom Room together.
