The stars of U.S. TV series Teen Wolf have launched a howling social media campaign to raise awareness about cystic fibrosis.
Castmembers Holland Roden, Charlie Carver, Max Carver, Ryan Kelley, Ian Bohen, and JR Bourne have shared videos of themselves howling online and they want fans of the show to do the same.
Their wolf calls are part of the #Howl4ACure initiative launched by officials at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, who are aiming to inform people of their work to help sufferers of the condition, which affects the lungs and other organs by clogging them up with mucus.
JR, who plays Chris Argent on the show, has a personal connection to the cause as his 17-year-old niece was born with the life-limiting condition.
Speaking to MTV News, he explained he had been inspired by fans' responses to his promotion of the charity, saying, "When I started doing conventions for the show, I realised it was an amazing platform for discussing the disease and raising money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation."
On 7 September (16), the actors will host an online event aimed at raising funds for the charity. They will host a live stream on the app Bidchat, which allows users to bid for a chat with a celebrity.
Users will be able to bid for conversations with members of the cast, with the proceeds and other donations benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
During the event those who have performed the best howls will receive prizes.
Charlie, who plays Ethan in the series, added,"We hope people learn something about the disease and how organisations like the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation really are essential to advancements in medical science."
