Selena Gomez shuts down lip-syncing accusations
Pop star Selena Gomez is adamant she did not lip-sync during her performance at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.
The Good For You singer performed two new songs, Hands To Myself and Me & My Girls, during the annual catwalk extravaganza, which was filmed at the Lexington Armory in New York City in November (15).
The show was broadcast on Tuesday night (08Dec15), and several
users on Instagram.com questioned whether Selena was singing
live.
In a comment posted on the Victoria's Secret official page, one
user asked, "She sings live?" and Selena replied, "Yes I f**king
sing live."
Ahead of the broadcast, Selena took to her own Instagram page to
share a picture of herself eating a McDonald's meal before her
onstage appearance in a racy, cleavage-baring black dress.
In the caption, she wrote, "Wait, on the low though... This was
backstage. Why do you think I covered my stomach during the
show??"
Performers at the event also included The Weeknd and Ellie
Goulding, who filled in for Rihanna after she dropped out of the
show.
Ellie recently had to defend lip-syncing rumours of her own
following her set at the Australian Football League (AFL)'s Grand
Final in Melbourne in October (15) as a technical glitch caused two
backing tracks to begin at the same time.
She wrote on Twitter.com, "Love it when people think I lip sync,
what a rad (great) compliment... Considering I had no voice
yesterday and a sleepless night because of the meds (medication) I
would say it's been a good day.
"I give 100 per cent in my performances even when people don't give
much back. My fans know that. That's because I love what I do so
much... Truth be told I've been unwell the past week and I could do
with a long spell chill but I was determined to give everything for
Oz (sic) today."
