Selena Gomez powers through illness during Brisbane show
Selena Gomez battled through sickness during her concert in Brisbane, Australia on Thursday (11Aug16) following fears she might be too ill to perform.
The Come & Get It singer took to Snapchat earlier on Thursday and informed fans she thought she had strep throat but promised them she was "going to do absolutely everything and anything I can do to perform tonight."
Despite her concerns, she pushed through the show, her last stop in
Australia, and recorded a video on the app afterward thanking the
audience for getting her through the performance.
"Well, I did it and that's because Brisbane sang along to every
damn word, thank you," she said, after coughing. She blew a series
of kisses to the camera and added, "It is also my best friend's
24th birthday," before panning around the car she was riding in to
show her pal sat next to balloons.
Selena's illness didn't stop her from celebrating the birthday that
night and a video on Instagram shows the singer hitting the dance
floor to salsa dance with a handsome man.
"When my babies take me salsa dancing even when they told me not to
because I'm sick... I don't care," she wrote in the caption.
Selena, who also shared a Snapchat clip showing her wiping her
nose, only has to complete one more date Down Under, in Auckland,
New Zealand on Saturday (13Aug16), before she has a break until
September (16).
