Selena Gomez was spotted meeting fans in Tennessee during her self-imposed break from music.
The 24-year-old announced back in August (16) she would be taking time off to deal with anxiety and depression caused by lupus, the medical condition she was diagnosed with last year (15).
Lupus is an incurable immune system illness, and symptoms include rashes, depression, anemia and headaches.
A month after the Come and Get It singer revealed she was taking time off to recuperate, Selena was spotted in Alcoa, Tennessee, meeting fans while dining at the Texas Roadhouse restaurant on Saturday (08Oct16).
Eyewitnesses confirmed to E! News Selena stopped by the eatery for an afternoon meal, and was graciously taking pictures with fans and posing for pictures.
A fan account on Twitter reposted the snaps on social media, and the sighting was so popular with fans #SelenaIsBackParty began to trend on Saturday.
Selena candidly revealed the side effects of her lupus diagnosis as she announced her self-imposed break from the limelight in August, and said in a statement she wanted to focus on her health.
"I've discovered that anxiety, panic attacks and depression can be side effects of lupus, which can present their own challenges," the singer said. "I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time off.
"Thank you to all my fans for your support. You know how special you are to me, but I need to face this head on to ensure I am doing everything possible to be my best. I know I am not alone by sharing this," Selena continued. "I hope others will be encouraged to address their own issues."
