Soul sensation Sam Smith honored the late Amy Winehouse during his set at the 2015 Lollapalooza festival on Saturday (01Aug15) by covering her song Tears Dry On Their Own.
The Stay With Me hitmaker delighted fans at the Chicago, Illinois event by performing tracks from his Grammy-winning album In the Lonely Hour, while he also showed his range by belting out a variety of covers, including Elvis Presley's classic ballad, Can't Help Falling In Love With You, and Winehouse's 2007 single.
Introducing the tune just days after the fourth anniversary of her death, Smith declared, "This is for you, Amy."
He and his band then treated revelers to a rendition of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell's Motown smash Ain't No Mountain High Enough, which was sampled by Winehouse.
They wrapped up the cover medley with disco group Chic's Le Freak.
Later on in the set, Smith thanked fans for their support by stating, "I know I shouldn't say this but this has been one of the most amazing festivals I've ever played in my life."
Winehouse passed away from alcohol poisoning on 23 July, 2011, aged 27.
