Ultimate Fighting Champion star-turned-actress Ronda Rousey is still struggling to eat almost a month after her brutal knockout defeat by Holly Holm.
Fans were left stunned on 15 November (15), when the Furious 7 star suffered her first UFC loss with a powerful kick to her face, which cost her the bantamweight title.
Ronda required medical attention to stitch up a big gash on her lip after the upset, and although UFC president Dana White recently confirmed plans for a rematch are underway, the 28-year-old California native insists it won't be anytime soon.
Breaking her silence in a new interview with ESPN magazine, Ronda admits she is still healing from the big hit, which also knocked loose a few of her teeth.
"It might be three to six months before I can eat an apple, let alone take an impact," Ronda admits, when asked if she will fight again.
She also confesses she is "really f**king sad" about the defeat, but is determined to bounce back and regain her status as the UFC's leading female star.
"Maybe I can't do it all before my prime, before my body is done," she says. "But f**k it, maybe I can."
Ronda has a number of other projects to focus on outside of mixed martial arts - she is also preparing to star in an upcoming remake of Patrick Swayze's 1989 film, Road House.
The movie, in which she will portray a bouncer hired to clean up a rowdy bar in Missouri, is due to begin production early next year (16).
At the time of the announcement in September (15), she said, "It is a great honor to play a part in celebrating the life of a man that inspired so many. I couldn't be more grateful to have this opportunity to pay respect to the beloved Patrick Swayze. I promise to work incessantly to make sure this project is a tribute his family and fans."
