Robert Pattinson oozes mystery in his photos for Dior Homme's new campaign.
The British actor was signed as the face of the label’s fragrance back in 2013 and also models its ready-to-wear collections as of March this year (16).
For his latest shoot, Robert is seen looking sexy wearing sunglasses at night while rocking some sleek pieces by the brand, including a biker jacket and a tuxedo.
German designer Karl Lagerfeld, who has helmed previous campaigns, shot this particular one with a film-noir effect outside his photo studio in Paris’ Left Bank.
“I love to take photos at night in the streets,” Karl told WWD. “That is my outdoor studio.
“(Robert) is very easygoing and easy to photograph. But at the same time there is something mysterious about him, which I love. His profile is the modern version of an antique coin.”
In return Robert, 30, thrived in the intimate settings of the narrow side streets that run between the city’s Rue de Lille and the Rue de Verneuil, where Karl notices nobody comes to or goes from. And the designer’s choice to shoot when the sun had set made a big impact on the Twilight actor.
“I’m always floored at the undeniable beauty of Paris. And at night in the alleys and the side streets, emptied of crowds, it’s almost more breathtaking,” he gushed. “Contrasting shadows make everywhere you look seem like a frame from a movie.”
Dior Homme creative director, Kris Van Assche, reflects Karl’s kind words about Robert, describing the handsome star as a “rebellious contemporary icon” who is a big part of “the exploration of the diversity of the Dior Homme man.”
The campaign will be unveiled on Saturday (01Oct16) in fashion glossies including GQ China, Italy’s Style Magazine and Esquire Big Black Book in the Middle East.
