Rob Kardashian gave a rare interview to speak of his excitement at expecting his first child with fiancee Blac Chyna.
The reclusive reality star made a return to the spotlight after he and Blac confirmed last week (06May16) that they are expecting their first child together. The new baby will be Chyna's second, as she has a three-year-old son King Cairo, with rapper Tyga, who is in an on-off relationship with Rob's sister Kylie Jenner.
The former reality star revealed he is excited to become a father but, unlike his famous family, Rob says he is keen on keeping things private.
"I mean it's my first time, so everything is exciting, literally," Rob told E! News' on Tuesday (11May), in his first on-camera interview in more than two years. "I'm happy and I just like to keep it, you know, keep it private... as private as can be."
Rob was speaking at an event in Hollywood celebrating Blac's 28th birthday and the launch of her Chymoji emojis. The couple, who have been dating for four months, looked happy together and laughed and smiled as they discussed their joy at the impending arrival.
His interview is all the more surprising as Rob has been a recluse in recent years since gaining a lot of weight and reportedly battling depression. Despite the efforts of his family, he withdrew from the spotlight and famously skipped sister Kim's lavish wedding to Kanye West in Florence, Italy because he felt "uncomfortable".
However, since meeting the video model, he has lost a reported 50lbs and is being courted by weight loss companies. Even sisters Kim and Khloe Kardashian credit the model for his stunning turnaround in scenes from an upcoming episode of their reality show.
“Like, don't we kind of think it's a miracle that Rob, who doesn't even show up to Christmas for the past three years, literally he wouldn't leave his room, but the fact that now he's created a Snapchat, the fact that now he wants to be so public, blows my mind," says Khloe.
"She gave him confidence, more power to her. After Rob and Blac Chyna started dating, Rob is now, like, all over social media and, like, out and about," adds Kim.
