Kanye West has reportedly been put under constant watch in hospital as he has become "very paranoid", an insider has revealed.
The Stronger hitmaker was admitted to the University of California, Los Angeles Medical Center (UCLA) for a mental evaluation on 21 November (16) after his allegedly erratic behavior led to fears for his health.
Now a source close to the rapper has told America's People magazine that he is "very paranoid" in the hospital, meaning he is being heavily supervised by staff at the center.
"(Kanye) has big ups and big downs, but this bout seems to be much more serious. In the hospital he has been very paranoid and is under constant watch for his safety," the source revealed. "He’s still there because clearly he’s not doing well.”
According to reports, Kanye had been expected to be discharged from the hospital by now. However, his setback has meant doctors have rethought releasing him.
The rapper's wife Kim Kardashian has rarely left his side during his time in the facility, and even sat with her spouse as he marked America's Thanksgiving holiday (24Nov16) in hospital.
And Kim is reportedly the only person in Kanye's life he trusts at the moment.
"Kim acts very concerned," the insider continued. "She says he has yet to be diagnosed, but she uses words like paranoia and explained that Kanye thinks everyone is out to get him. The only person Kanye trusts is Kim.
"Kim does spend hours with Kanye every day. She says that Kanye is on many different medications and that his doctors are figuring out proper doses. Kim says that not much has changed since he was admitted and that his doctors seem concerned.”
Despite the reports about Kanye's setback, the father-of-two recently had a positive development.
A source close to the rapper told People that he has been "really eager to make music and to work even from the hospital bed.”
However, it's unclear when Kanye will be allowed to leave the hospital, with the insider adding that the rapper's mental health is “very private” and “between him and his family.”
