Nicole Scherzinger's new album documents relationship troubles
Pop star Nicole Scherzinger has detailed her turbulent relationship with Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton in songs on her new album.
The former Pussycat Dolls singer admits creating her new record, Big Fat Lie, was a "cathartic experience" as it documents intimate elements of her on/off relationship with the sportsman.
She tells Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper, "It's a personal album
to me. I'd say it's a reflection of how I've felt over the past
couple of years. Sometimes love makes you feel amazing - it makes
you feel like 'I need you and you need me'. But sometimes it's like
my song Run, when you have to run from your own fears and somebody
that's getting on your nerves."
Scherzinger welled up as she explained how emotional the recording
process was, adding, "It's been a cathartic experience. Sometimes
you wonder what you're doing it all for. Sometimes you feel so
alone. But I've turned to music and I feel like it's taught me a
lot."
The singer began dating the Brit in 2007. They parted ways in 2010,
but reconciled and split several more times over the next few
years. They are currently together.
