Nick Jonas missed a scheduled radio co-hosting gig in London on Thursday morning (26May15) after having travel issues in France.
The Jealous singer was due to co-host the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show with DJ Nick Grimshaw between 6.30am and 10am local time, but he had been stopped as he tried to board the Eurostar train from Paris, France to London. Nick was stuck in an office inside the terminal, for unknown reasons, before he could finally continue his journey.
He was hoping to arrive during the show, but he finally turned up at the Radio 1 studios at 9.59am, just before the end of the show, and he apologised for his travel dilemma.
"The journey I have been on," he explains. "It's been tough but I'm glad to have been here for at least 30 seconds... I'm good, it's been a little frustrating... I'm sorry for standing you up basically. It was the border in France and not me."
Nick, 23, wasn't just disappointed that he let down his co-hosting commitment, he was also annoyed that he missed the opportunity to interview Game of Thrones star Kit Harington, who had been in the studio that morning.
"I'm devastated... I'm a huge Game of Thrones fan," he says. "I was so excited... I was at the border last night, trying to get in, and I was like, 'you don't understand, I have an interview with Kit Harington tomorrow! Jon Snow!'"
Despite his travel dilemma, Nick managed to find the funny side on Twitter, especially because the night before (25May16) he had ironically tweeted, "I’m coming by @BBCR1 tomorrow morning to co-host with @Grimmers. 2 Nicks and a carafe of cold brew, what could go wrong?"
On Thursday morning, Grimshaw retweeted the post and wrote, "'what could go wrong?' ........you get stuck in ANOTHER COUNTRY," and Nick replied, adding, "The irony of this 'what could go wrong' tweet from last night is too real @R1Breakfast (crying with laughter emoji)."
Nick stuck around in the studio for radio host Clara Amfo's show as he was doing a cover song for the Live Lounge session.
