Naya Rivera is grateful her relationship with her former Glee co-star Mark Salling ended now that he is facing child pornography charges.
Mark, who quietly dated the Latina from to 2009 to 2012, was arrested in December (15) after police enforced a raid on his Sunland, California home following a tip-off, and allegedly uncovered and seized thousands of lewd images featuring minors.
If convicted of the charges against him, Salling faces a sentence of up to 40 years in prison.
Naya reveals she wasn't "totally shocked" by the news and while she was initially devastated after their breakup, she is now glad they didn't stay together.
"My son's nanny actually told me about it when the story broke," she wrote in her memoir, Sorry Not Sorry: Dreams, Mistakes and Growing Up. "I can't say I was totally shocked, but still - WTF (what the f**k)? Then I had no doubt that God really did have my back along the way.
"When Mark dumped me, I thought it was the worst thing ever, but can you imagine if that didn't happen? And I was laying there in bed when the battering ram came through the door?"
The 29-year-old went on to reveal her and Mark's relationship didn't get off to the best start and a month after they began dating she tried Ecstasy with him.
The couple went on to date for three more years, but Naya explains his publicist wanted to keep the romance out of the headlines, because of his "heartthrob image."
"I had a feeling his pretending to be single had less to do with his publicist and more to do with his d**k," she continued.
The TV star claims the relationship ended after she learned Mark had cheated on her and trashed his car. They briefly reunited but then he broke up with her.
"For a while, there was drama on set, because we hated each other and I didn't even want him looking at me," she added.
Naya went on to date another co-star, Chord Overstreet, but the relationship didn't last long. She is now married to actor Ryan Dorsey, the father of her 11-month-old son, Josey.
