Maroon 5 urge fans to donate to United Nations' urgent Syrian appeal
Maroon 5 have called on their fans to boost donations to a United Nations fund to help provide much-needed aid to refugees in Syria.
The Payphone hitmakers, fronted by Adam Levine, are using their Twitter.com blog to raise awareness about the humanitarian crisis unfolding in the Asian country as civil war rages between government and rebel forces, and they have asked devotees to donate what they can to the Syrian Urgent Appeal campaign, organised by officials at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
In a Twitter.com post on Wednesday (06Mar13), the rockers write, "1
million refugees #Syria. Imagine the populations of DC and New
Orleans combined. We can help".
They also provided a link to the UNHCR fundraising page.

refugees fleeing the ongoing violence in Syria - British singer
Robbie Williams is using his fame to draw attention to the cause
after becoming an ambassador for the United Nations Children's Fund
(UNICEF) in January (13).
