M.I.A. resolves Bird Song feud with record label
Rapper M.I.A. and bosses at her record label have resolved their spat just in time to release her new Diplo collaboration Bird Song.
The Paper Planes star went public with her feud with Interscope executives over the weekend (12-14Aug16) when she posted a tweet begging them to let her release the track she recorded with her ex-boyfriend this week (beg15Aug16).
She explained record label officials had refused to clear the song,
writing: "Interscope wont clear the diplo bird song so it can't
can't be released!" She added, "please sort it out."
In a Periscope broadcast on Thursday (18Aug16), M.I.A. confirmed
the record company dispute had been resolved, and the new
Diplo-produced version of Bird Song has been released. The track
will appear on M.I.A's upcoming album, AIM, which she insists will
be her last.
