Lindsay Lohan's lawyer checking SNL sketches so as not to upset judge

Lindsay Lohan is so determined not to upset the judge overseeing her probation she has asked her lawyer Shawn Holley to vet the comedy sketches she'll appear in on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE this weekend (03Mar12).

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner was full of praise for the actress during her latest hearing last month (Feb12), during which she gave the Mean Girls star permission to leave California and film SNL in New York - and Lohan doesn't want to upset her.

So she took all skit ideas to Holley - to make sure she wouldn't anger or annoy the judge.

In an interview on breakfast show Today, she explains, "I spoke with my attorney and asked her (because) I didn't want to be disrespectful to my judge because she's been really wonderful to me and helped with a lot.

"So I've asked if certain things would be inappropriate or off-limits because I wanted to be in the clear. Some of the things were acceptable and so we'll see if we can get them together and write them the right way."

Lohan admits she sent SNL creator Lorne Michaels "harassing emails" until he agreed to let her kick off her comeback as the host of the comedy show.

The actress accepts her reputation took a big hit following regular run-ins with the law and a series of stints in jail and rehab over the last two years, and she needed the chance to revive her career with a gig on SNL.

She says, "I'm really lucky because Lorne Michaels has really... he's really been supportive of me. I actually went and emailed him and kind of was harassing him to meet with him and (ask him to) let me do the show. And he believes in me and so it's just a process and I'm willing to go through that process and prove that I can be accountable.

"I want to poke fun at myself... I think if I'm going to do a sketch about X or Y, this is the place to do it."
