Kendall Jenner tunes out pain when life gets rough
Reality star-turned-supermodel Kendall Jenner relies on distractions and a strong support system to help her deal with emotional lows.
The 20-year-old has quickly become a leading trendsetter and an in-demand runway star, and on Monday (16May16) she opened up about the pressures of fame in fashion - and what she does when it all becomes a little overwhelming.
"When I feel down or upset, I like to distract myself with
friends," she wrote in a post on her website. "I call them because
they're the ones that make me laugh and know exactly what to do to
make me happy. In that sense, I truly have the very best group of
friends.
"Other times, though, I just want to be alone. I'll stay at home
and tune out the rest of the world. It really depends on the
situation and what is making me upset."
Kendall's inner circle is simply fabulous - her best pals include
some of the fashion industry's young elite, such as Gigi Hadid,
Cara Delevingne and Hailey Baldwin - but sometimes she just needs
mom, Kris Jenner when she's feeling low.
"When things get really bad, and I'm really down, I call my mom,"
she admitted. "She listens to me - which is so important - and
gives really good advice. I feel lucky to have such a strong
support system when things get rough and feel overwhelming."
Kendall and Kris are so close, the model invited her mom to help
her celebrate the launch of her new partnership with Magnum at an
exclusive soiree in Cannes, France on Thursday (12May16). Kendall
and her mom have been turning heads on and off the red carpet
during their stay on the French Riviera, an area packed with
celebrities who are in town for the Cannes Film Festival.
