Kendall Jenner has spoken out in defence of her controversial Vogue Spain ballerina photo shoot.
The 20-year-old model was tapped as the cover star of the fashion publication for its October issue and posed in ballet gear for an accompanying spread; with one snap showing her wearing pointe shoes while leaning against a ballet barre.
Many were quick to criticise her pictures and some professional dancers slammed the magazine for not hiring an actual ballerina, calling Kendall’s shoot "disrespectful" and "dangerous".
Now, in a new post on her blog kendallj.com, the brunette beauty has defended the photo shoot.
"It's so funny that people are getting pregnant and married - or having crazy drama - but my drama is ballerinas being upset at me!" she wrote. "With my Vogue Spain shoot, I didn't even know I was going to be a ballerina until I went into hair and make-up.
"It confuses me how people can get that upset when there are so many important things going on in the world. But, it's obviously not going to stop me from working hard and being me."
She also shared the post on her Twitter account by sharing a link to the page alongside the caption: “Such a silly controversy!”
It seems the harsh feedback affected Kendall so much that she disabled comments on the ballet barre photo she shared on Instagram, with one user commenting on another snap: “She didnt allowed us to comment on her other Photo because we all know its not right the way she is going on point hahaha (sic)”.
Kendall also starred in a behind-the-scenes video to accompany the shoot, which saw her dance about in a studio while dressed head to toe in ballet garments.
