Karlie Kloss stands up for her squad
Karlie Kloss has defended her and Taylor Swift's group of friends, calling them kind and caring.
The American model and best friend Taylor are known for their A-list group of friends, also referred to as their squad, which includes Ruby Rose, Cara Delevingne and Gigi Hadid.
Some slammed Taylor's recent Fourth of July party as fake and
staged, after she gathered her famous pals and new boyfriend Tom
Hiddleston for a lavish bash that was snapped by a professional
photographer. Karlie was quick to jump to her friends' defence
though, saying the group is genuine.
"My friends are kind, caring, thoughtful people," she told
Britain's Grazia magazine. "I think that's what draws everyone in
the group together. We are all very supportive of each other. We
are a big network of really great friends who all have very
international schedules and lives. We try to get together as much
as possible, even if we're all travelling in different places."
Karlie, 23, also praises them for helping her get over any
negativity that's thrown her way.
"You have to learn to cope with people's opinion - it's so
important for women to be surrounded by people who truly support
them. You have to have a score support group," she said.
Taylor, 26, is currently in an ongoing feud with Kanye West over
his song Famous, after insisting she didn't approve his lyrics, in
which he refers to her using a derogatory term.
Kanye's wife Kim Kardashian got involved by leaking a video
recording on Snapchat of Kanye and Taylor discussing the song,
where the Shake It Off singer can be heard agreeing to the lyrics,
though she has since stressed she was never made aware of the curse
word's inclusion.
It had been reported that Taylor could take the couple to court
over the leak, as it's a criminal offence in California to secretly
record someone in the state. However, now TMZ claim that Kim will
not be prosecuted as Taylor had no "expectation of privacy".
