Supermodel Gigi Hadid has reportedly taken her security into her own hands after she was manhandled by a serial prankster in Milan, Italy - she has treated herself to a stun gun.
The 21-year-old was walking to a car with her sister Bella after they had finished walking the runway at the Max Mara presentation at Milan Fashion Week in September (16) when she was accosted by practical joker Vitalii Sediuk, who approached from behind and tried to pick her up.
Outraged Gigi lashed out at the prankster to get herself free, while hurling abuse at Sediuk.
Just days later Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in Paris, and Hadid reportedly reviewed her security measures to make sure she would never be a victim again.
Now it has emerged Gigi, who has been dating former One Direction star Zayn Malik for over a year, isn't just trusting security guards - she has bought herself a gun.
"The Milan incident was a huge wake-up call for her," a source tells Life & Style magazine, "so she decided to take matters into her own hands.
"(Her mother) Yolanda was the first one who called Gigi after the attack and told her to carry something to protect herself. Gigi told her she'd already ordered a stun gun.
"It’s really cute. It's pink and looks like a cellphone. She carries the stun gun in all her expensive Yves Saint Laurent and Chanel bags. And she definitely feels better knowing that she can defend herself at any time."
