It's one of four Robin Hood pictures in the works - Disney bosses are developing Nottingham & Hood, while Warner Bros. executives have hired Gangster Squad writer Will Beall to pen their take on the folk tale, and Sony Pictures chiefs are working with Jerry Bruckheimer on another film.
Cate Blanchett portrayed Maid Marian in Ridley Scott's 2010 release Robin Hood, while Audrey Hepburn, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio and Olivia de Havilland have all also played Robin Hood's love interest in previous films.
