The Revenant stars Domhnall Gleeson and Will Poulter will be watching the Golden Globe Awards on TV after confessing they "haven't been invited".
The actors feature as 19th century frontiersmen alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy in the new thriller, and although the movie has scored four nods, including Best Motion Picture - Drama, Domhnall and Will will not get to walk the red carpet at the Los Angeles ceremony.
The stars made the revelation as they wrapped up a joint interview on breakfast show Today on Thursday (07Jan16), after being caught off-guard as co-host Natalie Morales asked if they will be attending the Globes on Sunday (10Jan16).
"I don't think so...," Will began after an awkward moment of silence. "Potentially."
Star Wars: The Force Awakens star Domhnall then shed a little light on the reason for their bewildered looks as they scrambled to come up with an answer.
"The deathly silence suggests that maybe we haven't been invited!," he quipped. "Thank you for bringing it up! We're not gonna be at the Golden Globes. We're gonna watch at home!"
The Revenant will also by vying for the Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama prize for Leonardo, Best Director - Motion Picture for Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, and Best Original Score - Motion Picture for Ryuichi Sakamoto and Carsten Nicolai at this weekend's Los Angeles prizegiving.
