Exes Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas were stuck in an elevator together ahead of a show at venue L.A. Live in Los Angeles on Thursday (22Sep16).
The singers, who are now good friends following their split in 2010, had a disaster hours before an exclusive show for Marriott Reward Members, when they were trapped inside an elevator for four hours with Joe's DNCE bandmates on Thursday.
Joe documented the incident on Snapchat by posting a video in which he tells the camera, “We’ve been stuck in an elevator for four hours," with an unimpressed expression. Demi, who is standing behind him, grimaces and mutters, “Oh my god."
He then moves his camera around to show his bandmates and he ends the video by sighing.
It isn't clear how much longer they had to wait, but they made it to their performance, although Demi appeared to have a separate issue she was dealing with.
"Walking in stilettos with a freshly sprained ankle sucks so bad," she tweeted. "But there's no way I'm performing in flats."
Their elevator drama comes just weeks after reality TV stars Kendall and Kylie Jenner got trapped while leaving an apartment building in New York with best pals Hailey Baldwin and Jordyn Woods. They were eventually rescued by firefighters after 20 minutes.
Kylie also took to Snapchat during the time of crisis, saying to the camera, "So my worst nightmare just happened. We are stuck in the elevator... We're actually stuck in an elevator in real life, I never thought this would actually happen, I'm genuinely so terrified."
Joe recently talked to Billboard magazine praising Demi, saying she's the "best version of herself I've ever known", after seeking help for her addiction issues in rehab.
"I know a lot of friends who've gone through similar things and it's when you have to live with your new self for a few years - that comes with a lot of struggle," he said. "And being a pop star on top of that, that's a lot of pressure, but she's amazing at speaking truth to what she believes."
