David Beckham recalls soccer hazing ritual

David Beckham was forced to take part in a bizarre 'hazing' ritual after joining the youth team at top soccer club Manchester United when he was just 16.

The sports icon began his career with the legendary British club, working his way through the ranks to become one of its most gifted and expensive players.

Now he has spoken out about his early years at Manchester United, alleging fellow young players encouraged him to take part in an initiation ceremony during which he had to touch himself intimately while staring at a photograph of another soccer star.

In footage obtained by TMZ.com, Beckham tells new documentary The Class of '92, "Everyone had an initiation that you had to go through on the youth team, that was one of the most uncomfortable ones... I was embarrassed when I was saying it on camera let alone talking about it more. But it's something that we all had to go through. It was definitely something I wouldn't like to go through again!"
