Dave Mustaine's wine venture is a big success

Dave Mustaine's foray into winemaking has proved a big hit after his first line sold out in just three days.

The Megadeth star has launched Mustaine Vineyards with his wife Pamela, and their Cabernet Sauvignon California Symphony Interrupted Select 2012 flew off the shelves after it was put on sale last month (Mar14).

The wine, priced at $40 a bottle, sold out in less than 72 hours, according to Winespectator.com.

California-based winemaker Vernon Kindred, who teamed up with the couple on the project, says, "Both Dave and Pam were totally involved in picking the blend, and they chipped in and helped bottle it. It turned out to be a really good wine - very drinkable... They've gained a lot of knowledge (about winemaking)... They came with a lot of knowledge, and I think they're going to continue on with more wine projects in the future."
