British actor Andrew Garfield was among the stars honoured for their charity work at GQ magazine's Gentlemen's Ball in New York City on Wednesday night (22Oct14).
The Spider-Man star was feted for his philanthropic efforts with charities the Worldwide Orphans Foundation and the Youth Mentoring Connection, and received a special prize during the ceremony, which was held at IAC HQ in Manhattan.
Garfield tells Access Hollywood, "It's amazing to be able to raise awareness for the organisations that really need it... I'm deflecting the honouring towards (the charities)... I'll accept it, I'll take the energy and send it to the places that need it. It's a strange world when the people who are honoured are not the people who are doing the heavy lifting."
Other celebrities honoured for their charity work include Star Trek actor Zachary Quinto, Joshua Jackson, and Taylor Kitsch.
