Allison Williams 'obsessed' over horror role

Allison Williams was "obsessed" with adding depth to her first big movie role.

The 28-year-old actress has expanded her resume with Get Out, a horror helmed by comedy star Jordan Peele, who marks his directorial debut with this project. While the main plot is about a young African-American man who visits his Caucasian girlfriend's cursed home, the feature also tackles racism - and it was this strong and innovative idea that drew Allison in.

"I've never done a movie because I love them too much to do one that I don't love," she told marieclaire.com. "I've been waiting, and waiting, and waiting for the right one. I get this script - and you assume it's a comedy because it's Jordan Peele - and I read the first page and I was like, 'Oh my God, this is not a comedy, this is not Key and Peele, this is something totally different.'

"By the time I finished the script, I was already thinking about how I would do it, and obsessed with how to layer my performance so it means different things the first time you watch it, the second time you watch it, the third time you watch it."

While she starred in 2014 film College Musical, Get Out will be her first mainstream movie.

Allison continued to note she was "salivating" at the thought of the potential debate the film could trigger among viewers.

The brunette beauty knows a thing or two about being bold on camera, as she's one of the stars of hit TV show Girls, about four twenty-something women living in New York. Lena Dunham writes and stars in the episodes and Allison praises her colleague and friend for giving a new lease of life to what it is to be a woman in this day and age.

"I think Lena has done so much to educate young women and millennial women about, first of all, what it means to be a feminist," the actress gushed. "Which is much less militant than anyone thinks it is if they didn't grow up around the term. Lena's done an incredible job of being like, 'No, no, it's just that you think women should have equal pay and equal rights. We are equal to each other.'"
