Recent news has dropped that World Wresting Entertainment (WWE), the powerhouse wrestling company, has signed a deal with Netflix to broadcast “Monday Night Raw”, its weekly episodic television series, through the streaming service. This is a landmark decision on both ends, with WWE being one of the longest episodic shows to air live on television and Netflix now slowly venturing into live streams through its platform.

The first episode will premiere live in Los Angeles at the Intuit Dome starting in January and will stream at its usual time of 8pm EST/5pm PST and feature a new opener song from Travis Scott. Fans can catch the switch to the platform live on January 6th using their Netflix accounts or get tickets to the event now.

While no match card has been listed yet, names like John Cena, Cody Rhodes, Bianca Belair, and CM Punk have been mentioned as showing up for the event. It is also rumored that Travis Scott will appear, most likely to perform his latest song for the show. In a surprising twist, Roman Reigns has also been mentioned to appear for the event. WWE fans know this is shocking news, considering Reigns's home is WWE’s other weekly show, “Friday Night Smackdown”. Could this possibly mean that The Tribal Chief is switching homes with the news that Netflix is a new service?

This switch has also made sports entertainment viewing easier for international fans, who, as well as domestic fans, are able to stream the show through Netflix, with all other paid live events staying home at Peacock. But international fans can also stream these live events through Netflix. So now, any paid pay-per-view content can be streamed through the platform!
