The slow, folksy sounds are what make this band so enjoyable through each and every album. This song in particular pulls at the heart strings because it talks about what we go through when we see an old friend experience something without us. &ldquo;It Wasn&rsquo;t Easy To Be Happy For You&rdquo; is an emotional song, but isn&rsquo;t that what The Lumineers do best? Check out this song, and their new album, <em>III</em>, which comes out on September 13!</div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <hr class="system-pagebreak" /> </div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-size:26px;"><strong>(Sandy) Alex G &ndash; &ldquo;Hope&rdquo;</strong></span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> I didn&rsquo;t think such an emotional song could be so upbeat, but Alex G proves me to be wrong in this track. &ldquo;Hope&rdquo; is a song that deals with grief, and for Alex G, that means the grief he went through after losing a friend. The guitar gives the song a faster pace, but the lyrics still struggle with losing someone to an overdose. Alex G&rsquo;s vocal performance on this song really showcase his true emotions, and I think that vulnerability is a quality that not all musicians possess. Check out &ldquo;Hope&rdquo; below.</div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <hr class="system-pagebreak" /> </div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-size:26px;"><strong>Sam Smith &ndash; &ldquo;How Do You Sleep?&rdquo;</strong></span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> I think the best thing about this song is watching Sam Smith dance in the music video. On the single, Smith sings about how he copes with moving on from somebody. I know this list is filled with a lot of emotional songs, but these are relatable emotions that most people have to experience at some point in their lives. Whether it is losing a friend or losing a lover, having to move on is something we all deal with. The best part is that we at least have Sam Smith&rsquo;s dance moves to help us move on!</div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <hr class="system-pagebreak" /> </div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-size:26px;"><strong>Tori Kelly &ndash; &ldquo;Language&rdquo;</strong></span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> If you have never listened to Tori Kelly sing, then I HIGHLY suggest you start now. Her voice is powerful and angelic in the best ways possible. &ldquo;Language&rdquo; is a simple song, but it is filled with the singer&rsquo;s attitude and sass. The song is hard-hitting and so catchy. Tori Kelly does not disappoint when it comes to vocal performances, and she makes that especially clear on this track.
