After a controversial album 2 years ago, the pop star is discovering her roots again. &ldquo;Never Really Over&rdquo; has all the elements you could imagine from a pop song. It is also produced by <strong>Zedd</strong> so I think that speaks for itself. Let&rsquo;s be honest, Katy Perry does pop songs with surface level meanings well. Not every song has to be &ldquo;deep&rdquo; and I think that is why she is so loved. Yet on this single, she sings about an experience that people can actually relate to on that deeper side while still being a fun pop song.</div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <hr class="system-pagebreak" /> </div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-size:26px;"><strong>Miley Cyrus &ndash; &ldquo;Mother&rsquo;s Daughter&rdquo;</strong></span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> This is what we&rsquo;ve been waiting for. Miley is back and here to stay. With much anticipation, her new EP, <em>SHE IS COMING</em>, came out on Friday. It contains SIX new Miley tacks. It&rsquo;s not Christmas yet, but it sure feels like it. On &ldquo;Mother&rsquo;s Daughter&rdquo;, Miley sings about the relationship with her mother and her self-confidence and determination that comes from her mother. This is an empowering song and also just a really great listen. I&rsquo;m not sure what we can expect next from Miley, but if it&rsquo;s anything like this EP, it is sure to be great. Check it out!</div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <hr class="system-pagebreak" /> </div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-size:26px;"><strong>Sufjan Stevens &ndash; &ldquo;Love Yourself&rdquo;</strong></span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> When we hear there is new Sufjan Stevens music, we know it&rsquo;s going to be a great day. With the start of Pride Month (which began June 1), Stevens released two new singles. &ldquo;Love Yourself&rdquo; was first recorded as a demo by the singer in 1996 about acceptance and being okay with who you are. Sufjan Stevens has an angelic voice, so if you&rsquo;ve never heard one of his songs, this is a great place to start. The other song he released this week is called &ldquo;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAcn32Usjy0" target="_blank" title="">With My Whole Heart</a>&rdquo;, a really positive love song, and if you know Sufjan Stevens, you would know he isn&rsquo;t known for creating very positive songs. So, if you&rsquo;re looking for a soft listen today, check out these tracks.</div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <hr class="system-pagebreak" /> </div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-size:26px;"><strong>Cardi B &ndash; &ldquo;Press&rdquo;</strong></span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> What kind of list would this be without including the new Cardi B single? Cardi B is no stranger to the media, and this song is a response to the pressure stemming from it. This song reminds me of &ldquo;Bodak Yellow&rdquo; in the sense that it&rsquo;s catchy and the instrumentals definitely have a similar vibe. The song is only two minutes, but the singer gets her point across with the same line repeating throughout. All in all, this is a fun song that is definitely going to be picked up over the Summer (and probably even into the Fall).
