Grace (Mackenzie Davis)
Mackenzie Davis's character Grace is similar to Kyle Reese in she has been sent back in time to protect someone from being terminated. But Grace is different as she isn't completely human. She has enhanced abilities that make her a formidable opponent for any Terminator. She is able to go toe-to-toe with the Rev-9 and not even break a sweat while pummeling the new villain into the ground. Similar to Sarah Connor, she is a warrior, but it is unknown as to which side she is really on. Cameron mentions how it's hard to tell if she’s a good guy or a bad guy, possibly hinting at some major twists to occur later in the film. Either way, she is self-described as the ultimate protector, which makes sense given she’s going up against the ultimate killing machine.
After breaking out on AMC’s underrated tech drama "Halt and Catch Fire", Davis has been popping up in all kinds of great sci-fi projects, following in the footsteps of such science-fiction icons as Milla Jovovich, Sigourney Weaver, and even Linda Hamilton. She has appeared in Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner 2049 as a replicant sex worker named Marietta and as NASA Satellite Communications Engineer Mindy Park in Ridley Scott’s The Martian. She also starred in the top-rated "San Junipero" episode from Netflix’s award-winning anthology series "Black Mirror". Now she adds Super-Enhanced Defender That Eats Terminators For Breakfast to her already impressive resume with her role in the highly anticipated revamp Dark Fate.
