9. “Parenthood”
After 6 seasons, “Parenthood” came to an end in 2015, wrapping up the story of the Braverman family. With so much intense, character-driven drama spanning generations of the family, it makes sense that the ending would circle right around to the beginning. Paralleling the pilot, when the Braverman clan raced to get Max to his baseball game, the last episode brings all of the Bravermans together once again to the baseball field.
The last episode really emphasizes the theme of the show, which is family resilience. Despite ending on a sad note with the death of a beloved character, “Parenthood” shows how families stick together through both the good and the tough moments. Even though death represents another challenge for families, it is something that can bring them closer together, like it does for the Bravermans. We will miss this American family, but feel satisfied with how their journey ended.
